About Brian Edward Johnson, PhD
Brian Edward Johnson, PhD is author and current Editor of Vagarights.com and a long-standing author for VAGA.
So how did Brian end up in his role at VAGA?
Brian is a psychologist. He has always been fascinated by the human mind, how the brain works, and the ways we have found for altering it. As a teenager he became intrigued with the possibilities being opened up by psychoanalysis; the idea that therapy can produce far greater results than drugs for treating psychological issues was only just becoming widely accepted. Brian eventually decided to study psychology, specializing in clinical psychology.
He then went on to spend the bulk of his career involved in academic research, rather than in private practice.
However, eventually Brian became tired of the stifling, stolid atmosphere of academic psychological research. He was watching the concept of bio-hacking seep into everyday life, with an increasing number of people from all walks of life embracing the idea of enhancing humanity itself through biological manipulation. Deciding it was better not to miss the boat, Brian decided to leave academia and try to create a resource to help bio-hacking gain traction in the “real world”. The result of that decision is Vaga.org.
VAGA is supposed to be a free, informative, unbiased resource for people who want to learn more about bio-hacking. While the site is the brainchild of Brian Johnson, and although the bulk of the research that goes into VAGA’s content is done by Brian, this site is about you more than anything else. We want to give you information that will help you get more out of your body and your mind.
