Elysium Matter Review Summary

Elysium Matter is sold as a powerful brain health supplement. However, after reviewing the Elysium Mattr ingredients, we can only come to the conclusion that it is a weak, over-priced brain supplement that cannot really deliver on the promises it makes about slowing “age related brain atrophy”. Bilberry fruit has never been proven to slow cognitive decline or improve brain health. The only other ingredient in Elysium Matter is omega 3 fatty acids. You can get a better nootropic for a lot less money than this!

Elysium Matter Review: Is this the best nootropic for brain health?

Elysium Matter is a brain supplement designed specifically for improving brain cell health. Elysium Health is a very interested supplement brand. They produce specialist “biohacking” products, such as supplement stacks designed to prevent ageing, and a biological age “index” kit which can supposedly tell you how old your body really is relative to others. According to the website, Elysium Health are “life sciences pioneers” who conduct hard science and cutting-edge research to help people live longer, fitter lives.

Elysium Matter review

Elysium Matter claims to produce the following benefits:

  1. Slow age-related brain atrophy
  2. Improve brain cell health in areas associated with memory and learning

That’s it. As we said at the start of our Elysium Matter review, this product has been designed for a very specific purpose. It is not a daily nootropic designed to enhance focus, clarity and mental energy on a day-to-day basis. It is not supposed to lower anxiety, speed up reaction times, and improve working memory. Nor does it claim to be one of the most potent smart drugs or nootropics you can buy. It is a long-term brain health support stack and nothing more.

But does Elysium Matter really work? Can it stop brain atrophy? Does Elysium Matter really target specific areas of the brain? Is it the best nootropic on the market today? Read our full Elysium Matter review below to find out!

Elysium Matter Ingredients

What is in Elysium Matter?

Here is the Elysium Matter ingredients list as it is shown on the bottle:

Elysium Matter ingredients

In case that isn’t clear, here is a list of the Elysium Matter ingredients along with doses:

  • Vitamin B6 – 20mg
  • Folate (as folic acid) – 1,333mcg
  • Vitamin B12 – 500mcg
  • Omega 3 Complex – 550mg (250mg DHA/EPA)
  • Bilberry Extract – 160mg

We will now go through the Elysium Matter ingredients in more detail. In each case, we’ll explain what the ingredient is and whether it has any scientific backing. At the end, we’ll tell you what we make of the formula overall.

Vitamin B6 – 20mg

Vitamin B6 is sometimes added to nootropics because of its role in energy metabolism. In simple terms, Vitamin B6 is needed for the proper metabolism of energy from food. Without enough B6, your brain cells cannot turn nutrients into usable energy. Some recent studies have found that B6 supplementation may be associated with reduced risk of Alzheimer’s Disease, but the effect appears small and has not been properly established.

Elysium Matter contains almost 1200% of your RDI of Vitamin B6. This is the kind of dose you normally get in pre-workouts, not nootropics. But such a dose is normal and is unlikely to cause side effects.

Folate (as folic acid) – 1,333mcg

Folic acid is a synthetic form of folate. This is usually the form that people take when supplementing to increase folate levels; this is generally effective, although you can sometimes fail to properly turn folic acid into folate.

Folate is extremely important for normal cognitive functioning. Folate (or rather folates) are needed for the formation, maintenance and functioning of nerve cells, which includes your neurons. Folate deficiencies have been linked to neurological diseases related to nerve cell degradation. Supplementing with folate is therefore recommended for maintinaing good cognitive function, especially in older people. Elysium Matter contains a very good dose of folate.

Vitamin B12 – 500mcg

Like folate, Vitamin B12 is integral to the normal creation, maintenance and functioning of nerve cells. Being deficient in B12 will severely impair your nerve cells’ abilities to do their jobs properly; in other words, low B12 prevents your neurons from functioning as they should, which leads to impaired cognitive performance.

However, very few people are deficient in B12. ELysium Matter contains an absurdly large 20,000% RDI dose of B12, which is neither going to drastically improve cognitive function nor broadly improve brain health over the long-term.

Omega 3 Complex – 550mg (250mg DHA/EPA)

Omega 3 fatty acids are among the substances with the strongest scientific backing when it comes to improving brain health. A large body of research has made it clear that consuming more omega 3 fatty acids – especially DHA – generally improves brain health and functionality over a long period of time. This is because DHA is a major constituent building block of your brain’s gray matter; no DHA, no new gray matter!

Elysium Matter contains 550mg of Omega 3 fatty acids. Of this rather small dose of omega 3s, just 250mg are EPA and DHA; the two most important omega 3s. We don’t know how much is DHA. This is a problem, as DHA is far more important than EPA for brain health. Most omega 3 supplements provide much more Omega 3s than Elysium Matter.

Bilberry Extract – 160mg

Bilberry Extract is most commonly used in vision supplements due to its observed effects on eye health. We have been unable to find any research suggesting that Bilberry Fruit extracts may improve brain health in any way whatsoever. The Elysium Matter inhgredients list is not packed with effective nootropics, so why they have chosen to waste space and money on Bilberry Fruit Extract is beyond us!

Elysium Matter Formula Analysis: Is it good for brain health?

Elysium Matter has an incredibly disappointing formula.

Unlike many of the best nootropics today, Elysium Matter does not claim to be an ‘all in one’ brain supplement. Instead, it promises only to support brain health over the long-term. As such, it should be easier for Elysium Mattr to do what it says on the bottle.

But it still gets it totally wrong!

Rather than getting a comprehensive stack designed to support brain cell health and functionality over many months and years, we get a weak vitamin and omega 3 stack with some frui powder thrown in!

Elysium Matter contains none of the ingredients we know to be effective for mitigating cognitive decline and promoting optimal brain cell health over time; there’s no phosphatidylserine, no lion’s mane mushroom, no citicoline, and no potent antioxidant.

Instead, we get some B vitamins, a tiny dose of DHA, and bilberry fruit extract, which does nothing for brain health. Of course, Bilberry Fruit does contain antioxidants, but it does not say that any are found in this extract!

Compare this to the best brain supplements on the market today and it is clear that Elysium Matter is massively over-priced and patheticaly under-powered. There are far more effective nootropics on the market right now for promoting long-term brain health and short-term cognitive performance.

Elysium Matter Side Effects: Is it safe?

Elysium Matter’s ingredients are never going to rapidly improve focus, learning or memory function. Nor is the Elysium Matter formula going to dramatically improve your overall brain health and prevent cognitive decline.

But one thing can be said with confidence; Elysium Matter is highly unlikely to cause side effects.

Elysium Matter side effects

Elysium Matter’s ingredients are all widely consumed substances, present in basic multivitamins, health supplements and commonly eaten foods. Each ingredient has been testd in robust clinical trials – on humans – and none have been found to be pose signifiant health risks. Ther eis no know long-term risk associated with taking any Elysium Matter ingredients.

This is not medical advice. We are not doctors. You must do your own research before using nootropic supplements, even those as seemingly afe as Elysium Matter. If you do experience Elysium Matter side effects, stop using it immediately and seek medical attention.

Elysium Matter Review Conclusion: Is this nootropic worth the money?

Is Elysium Matter a good nootropic?

Unfortunately, the answer to that question is a firm “no”.

There’s no big issue with Elysium Matter; no red flag or dangerous ingredient that makes it a bad brain supplement you need to avoid. This isn’t a scam brain pill or anything.

But Elysium Matter is completely lacking in any of the things that make for an effective, potent nootropic today. Compared to the best brain supplements on the market right now, this stack is extreemly weak and aggressivley over-priced.

If you want to support brain health over the long-term, slowing cognitive decline and maximizing cognitive performance as you get older, there are better supplements on the market today for the same price (or less) as Elysium Matter.

I need an alternative to Elysium Matter. It is costly. But it really helps me study Spanish faster.
